HI all would like any advice you have to offer on this situation
Two of the horses i ride had a back to back fight in the field on Tues afternoon ,when i arrived at the stables yesterday was informed of the fight and checked both horses over ......one has patches of fur missing from her rear but apart from that is fine.
The second horse has a surface cut to her off hind leg which i have cleaned and treated ....trotted mare up lame in trot on her near hind
Arrived at the stables this morning ang bought horses in.... the mare who is lame now has a swollen fetlock ,i kept her in for about an hour while i rode ,went to return her to the field and she came out of the stable very lame but by the time we walked to the field she was walking better ...
She is obviously better being able to move around than stood in the stable where it seems she seizes up.
Boss has said to leave her out for a few days and keep an eye on her .... he is unable to come and check the horse himself due to an injury
How would you deal with this situation ,when would you call the vet?
