my horse a suffered swollen hind fetlocks for some time, its not corsing her to be unsound but just wondered weather there is anything for it or what it was??
I am no vet, and don't replace veterinary advice! Might be worth getting a vet to look over her.
I use a good clay poultice (I love Ice Tight) on my mare when her windgalls are bad. Nothing will get rid of them 100%, just reduce the size temporarily. They are much more a cosmetic blemish then a lameness issue. A good joint supplement is an idea too.
I think there are some old posts about Windgalls on the HH forum.
My girl had swollen fetlock...is there any heat? Call the vet!!!! Mine had a slight suspensory ligament injury...now on box rest and no idea what will happen next. Lower suspensory ligament damage does not tend to be accompnied by lameness either from what I have read. So get your vet asap...the heat in my girls fetlock was only very slight and only noticed when she had her legs washed from being muddy during the day cos I had been bandaging at night for a windgall.
