Hello,
Just a quick post to get peoples opinions,
My TB is lame at the trot, checked all over couldn't find anything so suspected a sole bruise.
Called Farrier who didn't find anything in hoof but advised that his front inner fetlock was a little puffy and warm to the touch, advised to cold hose twice a day until he comes out again on Wednesday afternoon (2 days after first visit), he doesn't suspect an abscess and said with the hard ground he has most likely done it due to stomping the flies on uneven ground.(he thinks the vet would be an unnecessary expense at this time)
This morning, he was trotting around getting excited for his breakfast, (he is in a small turn out paddock) couldn't really tell if he was still lame or not, but checked fetlock and it is still warm but with minimal swelling (squishy in one place).
He is sound at walk so i have upped his dose of turmeric (as it is an anti-inflammatory) in his food.
I'm in two minds to call the vet to come check but i do trust my farrier (he is very good) in what he says and recommends.
(i personally think a good chiro and farrier are worth their weight in gold) but just wanted others thoughts before i give them a call.
Many thanks.http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/images/icons/icon11.png
