Hi,
My horse had a hot swollen leg (about 6 inches on cannon bone) on Wednesday, drove to vets for antibiotics as said horse prone to cellulitis/lyphangitis (?sp) Thursday it was pretty much the whole leg. 5 days of antibiotics (Noradine) and bute then onto 6 days bute and Iodine Phosphate (not sure what it does?).
Leg has gone down significantly and he has not been lame on it since the start (a little slow when it was really filled as you would expect). Vet advised lots of goes on the beloved walker and I have been walking him in hand and bareback. He was turned out Sunday and today.
However it is still a little poofy and I tried to speak to the vet again today but they never called back. Basically I want to know if I can ride him gently (walk and trot). He is happy and sound but a little poofy.
Sorry for the saga!
