Brought our new cob home one week ago. Noticed a couple of days ago that her glands were a bit swollen. Could it be the change in environment? Other changes we've made are from shavings to straw and from haylage to hay. She has very little hard feed which is Dengie Hifi Lite and Allen & Paige Calm & Conditioning. She's also very itchy. She's got a hunter clip and is in at night/out during the day and we've kept her in the rugs she came with but on very cold nights have added a fleece under stable rug. Could she be too warm - she's started moulting.

Any thoughts very welcome.

My 9yr old ISH gets swollen glands every time she changes fields or we get a new batch of hay. When it first happened we got the vet out who did blood tests which all came back fine. She is always well in herself, just a hamster like face :) I would get the vets advice just to be on the safe side as she is new and you are not used to her and her ways, but it might just be one of those things.

Could it be from grass coming through? My lad came in the other day very glandy, but they went down overnight, and is always prone to this coming into spring.
If she is itchy she may well be too warm so wouldn't worry about the fleece.
