My horse for last week has been lethargic, puffy legs, swollen head just above eyes. Had vet out they baffled took bloods came back fine. Anyone experienced this?

No change in diet or routine.

Thank you

My ISH had this once & he'd eaten grass clippings (houses backing onto field had mown their grass & put the clippings in a heap that Mr Greedy Guts could reach over the fence. V lucky he wasn't worse).

Started with big muscles now spread down cheeks, was thinking teeth, did have them done 3 months ago but been long process as he hadn't had them done in years before got him. Had really bad hooks.

If extending down cheeks it certainly sounds like teeth are worth checking.

Hmm. Interesting - My chap gets this, areas on his head, throat, and major leg filling as well as around his sheath. I hadn't really come to any conclusion as to cause, and had assumed it was just part of my old chaps ageing and slight heart block. I'm pretty sure he's PSSM though (I know yours is too KatPT - btw; that pic could be of my horse except mine's going grey with age!) which is what makes it interesting for me. I have a feeling too much grass/hay is part of the cause - and when I say too much, I mean he's basically on a bare paddock and gets a large section of soaked hay morning and night. If I give him an extra slice his legs fill. But also think not enough protein makes it worse so balancing his diet is a real struggle. Not enough movement also makes him 'puffy', as does hot weather; He was on a track system which seemed to help until he started eating the hedge and everything filled again. Vet doesn't really seem interested, think because of his age (23) so haven't gone down the blood tests/PSSM test etc route so don't know for sure.
Anyhow enough rambling ! - How old is he? Has vet checked his heart, has he had a cushings test (another thing thinking of for mine), does he get laminitis at all, what do you feed? No real answer to help you though sorry, just curious as can't find anything on the web bar the usual saying grass glands, cellulitis, lympangitis. Non of which explains it fully to me. So; following with interest!
