Swollen jaw

My 12 year old spaniel has a swollen right side to his cheek/ jaw area this morning, around a 3" area from his bottom teeth and back and below if that makes sense? It feels quite firm, no particular heat. He's had a meat only breakfast this morning, seems a little quieter, not so barky! Any idea's? a sting maybe or something more sinister brewing perhaps? Off to the vet tomorrow I expect....

Don't want to alarm you but yes take him to vets first thing in the morning.

My little 11 year old Cairn had a tumour in his jaw, exactly the same area. Could be an abcess? They will probably sedate him first and take a good look.

I would have thought with a sting or a tooth abcess you would have felt some heat so I would be definately taking him to the vet tomorrow.

Let us know how you get on and hope its something easily fixable.
