I have an ex polo pony, she retired in September and has always been creaky on her off hind leg. She was never lame, just lifted it funny when you pick her feet out, twists it a little when she walks. Checked with my farrier who has adapted her shoes a bit to remedy and she was absolutely fine, never lame.

I've had her in now since Friday morning, with two walks out a day, and two hours out yesterday but this morning her stiff back leg is swollen solid. She is old (for an ex polo pony - retired at 19, they don't usually play that long or so I am told - I personally know nothing). Ive put her out now on the advice of another girl at the yard, its snowing and set to get heavier here in Northants so I don't want to leave it later than say 2 or 3 to get them back in or I might not get to the yard. (Middle of nowhere, up hill and down dale).

Am I doing the right thing? I've been advised to bandage tonight, but beyond that? I know its nothing new, just a touch of arthritis and general creakiness. Worried worried worried...:(
