try to keep short!
horse lives out. came in at weekend with blood on his near hind heel. clean up with hibi scrub and purple sprayed, could only see small scrape and small pinprick in heel. fine for next 2 days carrying on with that treatment then couldnt make it to yard day 3 so stayed out in field. brought in yesterday and leg is swollen from fetlock to just below hock, so whole of cannon. he is also lame on it. cold hosed and put back in field (no stabling). is this likely to be infection from pinprick or kisck in field? should i call vet or leave it a few days to see if it subsides itself??
thanks :D

thanks for replies :) only just seen them! went to yard this morning and the swelling on his leg had gone down by half so didnt call the vet. still lame on a circle in trot, but not walking on it. So i cold hose and applied cooling gel. Is this now more a sign of a kick or knock to the area? surely if it was infection from the small cut it would still be blown up the same as last night?? help!! :/ thanks x
