Hi

Last year my gelding got a lump on his sheath (on the off side only) almost looked like a testicle (but he has been gelded lol). So vet came out and did an internal examination and said there was nothing wrong. Just wait and see if it went down. Eventually towards end of summer it decreased in size and through the winter had gone completely.

Recently over the last 2 months it has appeared again, he also urinates ALOT more when the lump comes up. Recently they went on smaller fields with poorer grass for about three weeks and I noticed the lump went a little smaller and he urinated less just normal. Now they have gone back in to big fields with richer grass the problem has started again.

Just wondering if anyone else experience this in summer and is there anything I can do to help. Dont want to get vet out again and them to just tell me the same thing!

Any experiences/views greatly appreciated. Thank you x

Geldings sheaths can look swollen when they put on weight, could be poor circulation/feed or biting midges and flies causing it.
