Swollen vulva

Past couple of days Pip has been rubbing her 'bits' causing there to be a sore. Cleaned it and applied sudocrem, however last night she has rubbed it even more and it is swollen, her skin around the area has flaked and it's quite inflamed. She also has been quite agressive towards the other horses in her field, possessive over the Shetland and wanting to be on her own which is unlike her, could this be linked?

Any ideas what it could be? Anything more which I can do for her (she's going into the vets on Monday). Going to clip her dock and see if there is anything going on her tail and wash the area.

I do have a picture but I don't know if there are any rules about posting a horses private parts on here :P

Thanks

Springy: Nope :/
EPRider: She had pinworms in November and got the all clear, unless they have returned, which I doubt as it seems to be her vulva which is the problem.

Could still be pinworm. Have picked a couple from Chloe's vulva a couple of days ago, despite worming three weeks earlier. Maybe one got a bit lost when climbing back in and caused a localised infection when she rubbed?

I read up a bit on pin worms as I was reading a lot of posts about them. They are easily picked up as the eggs stick to surfaces horses rub on etc. :(

If everywhere the horse could of rubbed her booty was not cleansed properly then i am sorry she runs a pretty high chance of being reinfected, and so does any horse that uses these areas.

Sorry just worming is not the end of the matter with pin worm.

Good luck
