Morning all

So!!! My mare has symmetrical swelling round her bum by her tail a quarter way down of where the semitendinosus muscle is
No damage to skin tail or hair but 2 big lumps one hard one softer, but not puss soft!
She is on a big private yard
She is turned out alone, so can’t be a kick
Vet said it could be from constant rubbing as she had been off her regumate ( now back on )
Vet said she is not worried and she has given her DMSO cream
The lumps at grapefruit size not hot and you can touch them and the don’t seem to have any pain to the mare
Vet said looks like swelling from rubbing but I’m not convinced

Anyone else had this before?
Like I say they are evenly placed on each side right by her tail
When she does rub.... she lifts her tail and rubs one side them the other hahahah!! She can’t possibly mess up her hair!!
Our paddocks are fenced with plastic round poles not wood.

I’m a bit lost as I’ve never seen this before
Like I say not hot no pain not puss soft not blood filled

So far they have been there a week and she had the week off as she was VERY SLIGHTLY lame from the swelling and tightness

Thoughts anyone?
