My horse had IRAP therapy in October for a coffin joint problem and has been sound since - until this last week.
He's slightly unlevel again - not too bad, and he quickly works through it, but it still shouldn't be happening.
So I've booked him back into the vets for next Tues and the vet says he will probably inject the joint again. So it looks like its back to a couple of weeks box rest, possibly followed by another injection, more box rest etc.

Its just so downheartening - every time I get him to the point we could go out and do something he goes wrong again.
Anyway, pointless post - I'm just looking for sympathy please, mostly for my poor boy stuck on box rest, but a bit for me too as he's the most disgusting horse to muck out!

Aw, im so sorry to hear this. my mare has just completed a course of IRAP a few weeks ago (also in her coffin joint). and has been on boxrest for an awfully long time too.
Good luck, i hope it all goes more smoothly than you expect.

Thanks - I hope you get good results and your mare is allowed out soon!
My boy coped well with his last session of box rest so hopefully he will be fine this time too.

Its for the injury so I assume I'll be told to box rest again - at least if I assume the worst I won't be disappointed!
I think it might be because box Boo has a soft tissue injury rather than arthritis so the vet wanted it rested, then we had a period of controlled exercise before he was allowed out.

Aww, sorry to hear that - was wondering how your chap was doing. Fingers crossed he'll be up and running for spring, hope it goes ok and you get good news.
