Has anyone had any experience with "synovial ganglions?" My horse came in from the field with one on his fetlock one day before Christmas. Not lame, bit of heat, treated it with hosing and poulticing but did not go down. Vet came, suggested a scan, went to clinic, 2 senior vets studied scans and came to the conclusion of a ganglion and said it was purely cosmetic. Horse is completely sound, competing in dressage and show jumping and appears unphased, however it is rather unsightly and he was to be sold within the next 6 months. The vets said there was not much they could do. They could drain it, but it would most likely re-appear. It is rock hard to touch, about the size of 2 grapes. I continued poulticing and it does go down a bit and also goes down a bit with work, but no luck at getting it to disappear completely. Any ideas or experiences greatly appreciated.
