Hello everyone.
I am new on here and hope you might be able to offer some advice and/or opinions!
My horse had an accident on a bridlepath back in March, where she stepped off the track which had supposedly been repaired and sunk into the mud. She then tried to escape which resulted in her falling over with my on baord. Luckily I was ok, but since then she has suffered from low-grade intermittent lameness, which when investigated (X-rays, nerve blocks etc) proved to be synovitis in her hock capsule.
This has been treated with steroid injections twice and she was put onto Synequin joint supplement. However, she is still no 100%. Sometimes she is 1 out of 10 lame and at worse she is 2 out of 10 lame in trot on a circle. We have had months of soundness, before it starts again.
I am still under the care of the vet and she is going to be reassessed in December before we decide how to proceed. However, I am starting to look at alternative therapies i could use alongside conventional treatment and was thinking about trying magnetic hock wraps?
I would love to hear from anyone whoes horse has suffered with this problem, how it was resolved etc.
Thanks everyone!
