Is this a big no'no? I have had my new girl nearly 3 weeks and I am hoping to take her down to a little local riding club show next weekend. But she came with a gorgeous brown Stubben bridle and a black synthetic saddle, it does look odd but I just want to go for the experience, but dont want to get laughed out of the arena... hehe!

What about if I bought a black bridle to match the saddle a bit better? Its a bit cheaper than buying a stubben saddle to match the bridle I already have.

Opinions please x

Personally, I don't think at local shows it matters THAT much - so long as you're not doing tack/turnout. However, I'd get same color tack rather than a black bridle and brown saddle, regardless of what class you're doing (except maybe showjumping where anything goes, huh?). I used to show my welsh cob in a synthetic brown thorowgood saddle, and it was fine for the wee local shows. Now that I've got a leather saddle, I can do well in tack/turnout but don't do any better in the ridden classes than I did before!

I have done local shows with a synthetic saddle and TBH I don't think it ever had any bearing on the result

I wouldn't worry about it at all. I've seen horses in synthetic saddles win showing classes at my local shows; albeit with matching colour bridle, but never mind!
