Have a look on the sporthorse breeding website but you have to go back a generation or so before you get into high level TB performers if you hover on the i button you will see anything of note that they did on the racecourse or anything they produced at stud, if there is nothing on there then look to sporthorse or hunter breeding records.

If you know anyone with old "racehorses of" books, look them up as 2,3 and 4 year olds or older if they are National Hunt horses.

I'm confuzzled then as I thought it was saying Leo's luck was foaled in 1969? What is the subject animal and what is the dam of the friend's horse? I may be able to find a bit more info regarding the Thoroughbred side.

Ok the horse in question is Roydons sweet gert, Sire is Ace of Diamonds Dam Colborough, she is by Leo's luck. G dam is a horse called Lady twiney. Her sire is fourth gen King of diamonds.

I've been trying to find out more from the dam line but don't know enough of T/b bloodlines for any of the names to mean any thing to me.

I will see whst i can find on the sporthorse breeding.

I'm a bit of a novice, but know that Nearco is the sire of Northern Dancer (probably the most influential modern bloodline in TB Breeding). But the only other I reconise is Fairway (a is related to one of my horses). Soz cant be more helpful. Good Luck

Nearco was bred in Italy by the great Frederico TESIO. A notable racehorse Nearco was undefeated in 14 starts before being sold to stand at stud in the UK where he went on to sire the likes of Nasrullah Nearctic and Royal Charger. It was Nearctic that went on to sire Northern Dancer. It is a testiment to the breeding skils of Tesio that Nearco can be found in the male line of every Arc winner from 1994 to 2007.

En route to the UK Nearco travelled by train through a tunnel in the Alps which collapsed several hours after the horse passed through!!

Fairway was Champion 3yo in 1928 and went on to become Champion sire in 1936, 1939, 1943, 1944. Champion 2yo sire 1936, 1937, 1943 and Champion broodmare sire 1946, 1947. His most notable son was Fair Trial whos race record included 7 wins. At 3: Longleat S, Queen Anne S, Select S, Ormonde Plate. At 4: Newmarket Spring Plate, Rous Memorial S, Lingfield Park Plate; 2nd: March S; 3rd: Eclipse S.
