Has anyone done one before? We have one happening in our local area and I have so much stuff I no longer use but I'm a bit apprehensive of getting my own table! Stuff I think I will no longer use, then I think but will anyone else actually want that ?! I think I need to make a list of everything I don't need.....

So , those that have, did you get good sales? I don't want to look like a lemon and go back with everything I came with

You will be surprised the stuff people will buy!! I took most of Bensons stuff to a boot fair, from rugs to some scruffy stable boots, and sold probably 70% of what we took. Its good fun, getting together with lots of like minded people! And you know there is always going to be something there that you want as well!!!

I went to one a few months back with what I thought was just tat. Sold it cheap as it was all just taking up space at home & came home with £80 :) I took old numnahs, riding boots, horse boots bandages, bridles etc, nothing fancy at all! xx

Ohhh i'll keep an eye on this thread, there's one near me soon too which I'm considering going to but like you I'm not sure what people will & won't want! I've ebay'd most things but still have a couple of bits and bobs to find new homes for - all nice things but not sure people will be looking for them.
Also have a "not very special" saddle to somehow get rid of but not sure if a table top sale is the right place to go!

I do them often, usually get back more then I paid in the first place (I buy very nearly new second hand) normally make £400+ plus each time

Thanks, I've had a clear out today and have found loads of stuff. My only issue now is putting a price on it! More struggling with the good condition items, ie show boots which cost £200 new, still loads of life good condition , but not sure a price decent enough but will also not scare people away ?!

I'd pick your places to sell things. there are show tack/clothes groups on Facebook, also groups for small pony stuff, rugs, bits, saddles etc so if I have anything of value it goes on the appropriate group or the HorseGossip forum (where most people are showing based)

The things I found that sell at table top sales are used and cheap-ish items. anything anywhere near its new value is not sold.

So for your boots you may get £35 at a tabletop sale but maybe nearer £100 if sold in a focussed way (example - I have no idea of valuem just a guesstimate!)

When I go to table top sales most of the stalls are full of tat, so if you take really good items you have a lot of people to sell to, I've often had cues at my table, with the girl next to me selling her 30year old bridle and torn dirty saddlecloth not making a penny.
