Tablet Resistance

Hi does anyone have any good suggestions on persuading a wily old mare to take her Prascend tablet? She took the first five tablets hidden in an apple no problem but now she has wised up! Tried it tonight with an apple with the tablet and polo mints shoved in it but she was having none of it! She is not really eating up very well either so I don't want to risk putting it in her food and her not get it.

If I've ever had to give my horses tabletted medication, I just put it in their mouths and get them to swallow it - if you don't know how can you ask your vet to show you?

She would let me do that but I think it must taste awful for her to spit it out.
