Tack Boxes ... Opinion/ Advice Please

I'm here!

I have one of these, and it is good, and you can get plenty in it. Depending on how secure you want it to be, you may want to add an additional lock.

Lovely, do you have the single or double saddle rack? ... Im probably getting WAYYYYY ahead of myself but eventually I want a GP and a dressage saddle! :o

My friend has one and there isn't a lot of room in them. Fine for saddle/bridle but I would look at additional storage optiins if you are looking to keep a lot more in there. x

I have one with a double saddle rack. There's not a huge amount of room in them, but I fit 2 saddles & a whole load of other crap in, no problem ;) there's a large shelf area above the saddles, and floor room as well.

The lock isn't hugely secure, but it will keep opportunists out.

I have one saddle rack and there are two bridle hooks on the door and about 4 hooks inside.

I don't store my saddle in it now as we have plenty of room in the yard tackroom, but can get a 3-drawer storage unit, hi-viz rugs and clipping box, plus my hat on the shelf and a few other bits - also I have a grooming kit box, bucket with shampoo and a storage box on the top for extra storage.

I have one of those in each stable at my yard. They are the single rack ones. In those you could keep one saddle, bridle and a few bits of spare reins/martingales etc (there are two hooks on each side and a bridle hook on the door), Hats and gloves fit on the top shelf, and we keep a large grooming box in the bottom. Hubby and stepson keep their body protectors and boots in there too. The locks aren't the best, so perhaps get another lock fitted if its going somewhere not locked (ie, open to anyone wandering onto the yard, not a locked room. At my friend's yard they have a big tackroom for liveries, and a lot of them have bought their own things like this. At our yard we bolted them to the wall too.

We went too Currys (any electrical store would proboablly do!) and asked them had they any broken freezers they didn't want! Cue us trooping home with two chest drawer freezers for free! We simply screwed on some buckles and attached padlocks! We have one on it's side (like the picture you attached) with a saddle rack in it, and the other one sits like it's meant to with all my feed stored!

Cheap & useful & very very waterproof!
