Have brought my bridle home as thought I might as well do something to do with pickle if I cant ride him! So it has a bit of grease on, and itnt very nice looking at the moment its english leather and a jefferies bridle. Any advise how to get the grease off?????? have tried shear scrubbing and it hasnt worked at all

I use that Belvoir tack cleaner thing, basically it's alcohol, leave it on for 5 minutes and wipe off. It's really good but I dread to think what it does to my tack in the long-run! Otherwise a fingernail should do.

yep a HUGE extra full bridle, and his other bridle with his stronger bit on!!!!!!

when its lumpy bits of grease (what i call grease jockeys!) i use like a table knife to scrape it off and then give it another wipe over with a damp sponge. i also use the Belvoir tack cleaner when i have it, it does work really well!!

I use luke warm water with a small dash of washing up liquid and a bigger dash of vinegar. Don't put the tack it it - just wipe it over with it. After that I apply some saddle soap.

I use warm water with a little w/up liquid - either that or some sugar soap. Wipe the tack over with that. (May need to wipe it a few times to loosen grease). I find my nails help to get some of the jockeys (balls of grease) off. Then I use some german hamanol cream on it.

I just soak mine in some warm water for 10 - 20 mins then take it out dry it with a tea towl then pop some leather feed on and it looks good as new.

Get a little bit of hair from the tail, ball it up and get the grease off with that- it's kinder to the leather than using a knife/nail to do it. Warm water helps lift the grease too.
