Tack cleaning products?

Has anyone had any experience with the Requestite Leather Wipes or Effax Leather Balsm?
Thinking of buying them both to keep my new tack in decent condition.

I use the Belvoir tack wipes, and also some anti-microbial ones I got from farmway. Much prefer the antimicrobial leather wipes, as the belvoir just seem to come apart.

Interested to see what people think of the Robinsons ones.

I'd like some opinions on the Robbies ones as the only reviews on the site are "speedy delivery" etc

I use my OHs leather car interior cleaning spray following by the conditioning spray

It makes dingy bridles come up a treat......even use it on my boots ....dont tell him tho!

I use effax it's brilliant soaks in and no slime residue.Have used it for years on sofas and car seats.

Effax Lederbalsam is one that I recommend to my customers, not a great fan of wipes though, they leave a residue. Better to use an old fashioned woven dishcloth, warm water and elbow grease . If you need a full on cleanser then choose with care as some are harsh and can strip the dye from leather - I only recommend Leather Therapy Cleanser and Ledercombi from Effax - both should be rinsed (ie wiped) off.

I use baby wipes to remove initial dirt etc. I saw it recommended in a motor bike magazine. Then wipe over with saddle soap/glycerin.

The Requisite wipes are rubbish, they just rip/tear!

Indeed - mine sees a baby wipe to get the mud off and has an annual proper clean if it's luck - tackcleaningslut

i use the naf soft soap its really easy and soaks in quickly .its like the old glycerin hard saddle soap-but really soft!

I have stubben saddle soap and hammanol, effax and Grand Prix leather gloss. Dry or stiff tack or things being stored get an effax. Bridle gets done with stubben soap after each use and then a rub over with a fluffy towel to get rid of excess product (over "oiled" tack is awful, give me dry brittle leather any day - at least that can be saved!) saddle done about once a week or more if muddy/dirty. Grand Prix leather gloss used before comps. Hammanol I hardly use now I have effax, but isn't as greasy so have been using now and then on bridles.
