tack colour

I can't decide what colour saddle to buy. Its for a coloured cob. He might do a bit of colored show classes and maybe a bit of dressage but will mainly hack.

I think if you are showing usually brown tack but nowadays you do see black tack in the show ring. probably depends on what level you are likely to be showing at.

I usually buy good second hand saddles so often it depends on what fits both horse and suits me!
 
How much white has he got on him? I have black tack for my grey Arab, it looks so much smarter on him than brown, maybe if your boy is more black then you could get away with brown tack? It does seem to be more popular these days!
 
I like brown tack on everything, but I was always told black tack was only for funerals so I'm a bit old fashioned that way.

TBH if it fits mine wear it, I have two black synthetic saddles and while I would prefer them to be brown if they fit I will use them. One of mine is using a black synthetic at the moment, she does have a brown bridle though as I can't bring myself to buy black.

If you have the choice choose what you like best :)
 
If he's skebald, then I'd personally go brown but if he is piebald, then go black. Although, this is coming from the girl who has a brown saddle and a bright blue natural horsemanship rope halter as tack, currently ...! :D x
