I have had my saddles covered on my house insurance for years. As it used to be awful cover that went with horse insurance
However renewal was due and I needed to add a new saddle. Turns out it is not covered for fire or theft if left in the tack room. I had specifically asked this when I first got the cover. Turns out I was wrongly advised

Tack cover thro seib is now pretty good. Even covers some accidental damage to tack. Saddles and tack covered at market value. Rugs covered too
The only problem is I can't get cover for things like massage pad Air jacket, hats etc

If I go down the route of specialist insurance it's £400 per year

Mine is covered with NFU contents.
I have it as an add on & it covers for riding equipment, saddlery in outbuildings (which are alarmed & on site).
I think you have to be really specific with them & I always get it added on the policy clearly. (mind you insurers always will try to wriggle out of stuff).
