Hi all,

I would love to try dressage with my warmblood although he is very strong and forward! Im not expecting great things and will be happy if we make it around a prelim without jogging! Id also like to do one of the local ODEs, again all very small and low scale. I was just wondering what nosebands and bits are legal for these types of classes?
Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance x

In principle, a snaffle and a cavesson, flash or drop noseband for low level dressage.

You can have a single jointed mouthpiece, a French link or lozenge. No multiple joints like a Waterford. You can have a variety of materials - metal, plastic, rubber and vulcanite. The main proviso being that the metal in the mouthpiece must be the same ie no copper rollers for instance.

Full rules can be found in the rulebooks of British Dressage, British Riding Clubs or the Pony Club :-)

Not to mention the new rules making bling browbands (and indeed, anything else sparkly you can find) compulsory at all levels :D
