Has anyone any idea as to where I can find a decent priced second hand tack pack for my trailer? Having real difficulty in finding one!

Ebay's the cheapest i've seen them, but still hold their prices quite well. Normally pick-up only, so only a slim chance of one being near-by. Just keep an eye in local classifieds.

Hi there, sorry to put a dampener on the post but if I were you i'd save my money (assuming we are talking about with the Ifor Williams Tack Pack or similar). I got one for xmas a couple of years ago off my other half, used it once and ended up selling it on ebay. It was such a squeeze to get two saddles and bridles in it was untrue and you certainly couldnt have fitted extras i.e. brushing boots, hats etc in too. It was such a tight squeeze you actually had to ram the door closed so I decided it was much easier putting our tack in the back of our SWB shogun than risking it being crushed/damaged in the tack pack.

As I say, sorry to be so negative but I found it to be a very expensive gimmick and a waste of money!

Luv Jayne xx

i think they are brilliant. i got my 2nd hand from a local ifor williams dealer . he had loads that came in with the part ex trailers. paid £90 for it

i went to my local ifor dealer in sussex, google ifor and there website will tell you main dealers look for one in your area and try ringing them to see if they have any 2nd hand

I have one that I bought for my Rice/Richardson trailer and it is OK when I am taking one horse, but when I take 2, there is just no room. Now my tack pack is outside my stable, in an indoor barn, with my bridle, saddle and boots in it. I wont sell it as I love it to keep my tack in it and I can padlock it and it is waterproof but I cant see me using it in my trailer again. Like said above, i just put my saddle etc in the back of my shogun. If you are only taking one horse it could be worth getting one though as they are sturdy and easy to move about and lockable.
Sorry edited to say, I got mine off Ebay and it was only 20 mins up the road.

I had an 18" wide saddle and it was a bit of a squash fitting it in. I had to fold the flaps down and make sure it was pushed right home. Also, the hooks on the inside for hanging bridles off are useless if you have a wide saddle because there is no room down the side of the interior.

Having said all that, Now I've got to grips with the short comings of the design, the benefits to me (and OH's 4x4 of not having all the tack in it)are greater than being without it.

I bought a 2nd hand one (from moonwalker!) and I love it!!

I've only got one horse so only take one saddle/1 bridle but I keep all sorts in it permanently like vetinnary items, brushes, spare equipment i.e short whip, girth, an old bridle, tendon&fetlock boots etc, even a spare hat! If ever I forget anything it's always going to be in my box!

It is a pain taking it out to get your horse out and putting it back once horse is in but I wouldn't be without it!

I've seen one advertised, cant remember where, I'll look & pm you!
