Has anyone got a door mounted Tack Pack and are they worth the money ?
I have a 511 and have previously had the tack pack on wheels but never used it, so it got sold.
The door mounted tack packs look good and would free up space in the car but I would like to know what peoples thoughts on them were before I buy one. Thanks for any replies.

I thought about this but lots said to me that most saddles dont fit so I have bought a lockable saddle rack (so it doesnt fall off) but dont know whether to fit on the door or nose?

I have also put my water butt in there tied onto the nose with bungees :)

Sorry probably didnt help but another idea anyway...

We have the tack pack on wheels... Useful, but more than one saddle is a squish And my jumping saddle doesn't fit at all. The one on the door looks an excellent idea, but if its the same dimensions then maybe not so useful? And I assum ud then have to have the jockey door open every time you try to unload so you can get your second horse out?

I thought one would be handy to try to keep the car a little less cluttered but at over £200 I need to be sure it would do the job !!. I would only be taking one dressage saddle plus all the usual stuff. Why would they make a tack box that you can't fit a saddle in ..??!!

I had a tack pack on wheels. Also 1 dressage saddle plus normal bits. It was very useful and I liked that I could take it to the tack room to pack up and unpack. It was a bit if a squash but I had a cover on my saddle that protected it. I think if it were any bigger it wouldn't fit in the trailer tbh.

It came with my trailer and was sold with the trailer but I liked it b

I've got one on wheels and the thing I love about it is that I can pack it all up the day before, then just wheel it into the trailer in the morning. :D

The door tack packs don't look as roomy as ones on wheels. & can make door drop due to weight & becomes v hard 2 shut door properly- hav had 2 help friend shut gets a few times & wasn't easy!

We've had both over time - and got rid of both. The door mounted pack is much smaller and we found the 18" hunter saddle would not fit. Plus you have to open the jocky door to do anything with the second horse.

The tack pack on wheels is, I'm afraid, a walking (or is that rolling...) invitation to theft. No-one would question someone wheeling a tack pack at a show ground and everyone knows everything you have is in there. Maybe I go to the wrong type of shows but tack theft is very much on the increase.

You can get a saddle pod for the car, or even a full mounted saddle tack for some makes. Much more secure I'm afraid.
