I know its a ridiculous question but I'm sure I'm not alone in my silliness/tackiness :D

I like my girls to have their own themed colours so we don't mix up brushes and tack and rugs. :)

I have a dark brown/black mare and a dapple grey mare. Darky I have decided looks good in red so have got what I can in red for her and grey-girl looks good in blue. Mainly these are the colours going with this sort of stuff anyway especially if you go the pony sizes which mine are.

But what do you all think? Would they suit better the other way round??? My dilemma is I've had to buy some fly rugs the opposite colours round because they only had certain colours in certain sizes. Should I then just swap them..??

This really is a funny question :D:p

Also as a last silliness what do the rest of you guys have colour scheme-wise for your colour mount??? :p

I'd just use the rugs that fit the horses, wouldn't bother swapping them :)

I am a matchy matchy Philistine.

Not only do my horses share tack, rugs and one grooming kit (curry comb, body brush, hair brush) nothing matches or goes, the yellow stallion wears pink plaid FGS! If it is marked down in the sale and a size I need, I buy it, usually it is a vile colour but I, sadly, do not care if it matches or not. :(

I'd only swap if the fit is okay - otherwise not.

As things like rugs and brushes wear out I do try to replace them with things that match my colour scheme and I am slowly becoming more matchy matchy

I have been on the hunt for sand/caramel colour brushing boots for about a year.... never gonna happen :(

I am somewhat in the middle. They share brushes (why wouldn't they they groom each other in the field anyway). Different sizes so don't share anything else apart from a cub saddle. I like pink and purple (seeing as I am having a midlife crisis) but I wouldn't buy a new rug the wrong colour then decide I needed another one as it was the wrong colour :D

My last pony (black) looked great in any colour so she had a mega rainbow mixture of colourful gear.
Current pony is bay roan. I'm finding that certain colours clash with her "pink" coat, so trying to stick with pinks, purples, maroon, navy, black or brown with her.
Not so much with my grooming kit (although I DO have a small lilac box and a large pink box :D).
She looks great in her bright pink headcollar. :D

Teehee I am sad and yes I could get myself some clothes!!!! But I love all the cute accessories that are cropping up now in the horsey world. I feel a bit picky now havin too grooming kits but then I have a brown and grey and if I groom the grey first the brown ends up coverd in greys coat.. I am smart with my matchy ways though. I never buy anything full price... To drop a name equestrian clearance!!! E. bay :D

my girl has brown leather things (boots, tack, headcoller) and everything else is pale blue (rugs, everyday numnah, grooming kit) or white (bandages, saddlecloth)

She's chestnut with a blaze and four whites :)

Everything is red and navy here :)

The trouble is I didnt think it through and as I have only jsut bought the ponies everything is new and rugs match but are only two sizes apart so now I cant tell at a glance which rug belongs to which pony!

Having said that I would live with fly rugs out of the scheme as they arent matching anything when out in the field anyway so it doesnt really matter if they are different to the rest of their stuff
