As title - i have found 2 tack shops so far but both a bit limited in choice!

I got told about a great shop in Weston Super Mare on the locking rd but, i cant remember the name of it!

I need rugs and other small things - anyone know of where i can try that isnt miles away as i need to be home by 1pm for work today.

Where abouts are you?

I go to a shop in Lydford on Fosse, called AR Gaines. Does a bit of horsey stuff, few rugs, brushses, feed etc. depends what you're after?

Im near (ish) the Mendips!

I know nowhere yet apart form Wyatts the feed place and Mendip saddlery, but they didnt have the rug sizes i need.

Murphy's saddlery, Nr Weston, I think Hewish is the name of the place, then there's Ridemore at Wincanton, Garretts Saddlery on the Cheddar Road.

Hope that's some help.

I go to Ridemore in Wincanton and Unicorn Saddlery in Taunton.
I go to Gaines in Lydeford too! Though it is mainly feed.

Not sure exactly where you are but if you are near Wyatts then Chris Puddy is just up the road. If you want a longer trip then Wadswick Country Store is the other side of Bath and worth the trip ( best to take credit card!).

Other than that theres Murphys at Hewish, Mendip Equestrian at Chilcompton (pretty poor to be honest) and thats about it.

Up the road from Mendip is another tack shop Totally Tacked Up. Chris Puddy's is 10 min drive from Wyatts. Also theres now a tack shop in Frome. The best of all is Wadswick.

Thanks all!
I ended up finding Murpheys and spent money there!

I'm not surprised, I think Wendy was trained at Grace Bros. as we never seem to escape without buying something :D

The shop in Weston closed a few years ago, but if you're on the A370 you could drive to Backwell and find Equicraft, they are in the little shopping precinct just off the main road.

Don't forget that you have mole valley farmers and countrywide stores for some of the basic stuff including rugs, then if you can suffer a trip up to Wiltshire, Wadswick at Corsham is very extensive!! They have a cafe too.

There is another option which I highly recommend - b and b equine who have a mobile tack van that visits your yard and can often do a same day visit.

I know they stocked Masta, JHL, Mark Todd, Rhinegold as well as a good range of clothing and tack consumables cheaper than a lot of the shops!

call them on 07548 035197 or www.bandbequine.co.uk

Think they now do Horze too:)
