Tack stolen overnight between 1st & 2nd December 2008. We are based near Llantrisant just outside Cardiff (close to the Royal Mint for any locals).
A heads up for all in the South Wales area and if you are offered any of the items listed below or spot them anywhere please let us know - Crime Ref No at South Wales Police is 62080420237
Our stables are right outside my bedroom window (as in 100 yards away and we sleep on the ground floor) and they have broken into our tack/feed room.
I am mightily pee'd off but glad the horses are OK as we had four horses in stables as well as the five out in the field. No rugs or anything have been taken so they knew just what they were after.
Worse still it must be someone that knows us or has been watching us to know the dogs aren't out at night as we have signs up stating the dogs run free.
They must have parked at the top of our driveway and then used our wheelbarrows to take the tack up the drive. Our dogs who normally bark at a leaf blowing didn't make a flipping sound
So if anyone is offered any of the following it is probably nicked. Happy Christmas to someone
Ideal Black International Event VSD Saddle 17.5" in very good condition bar a small nick to the cantle.
Kengsington Black GP saddle 17" in good condition apart from slight bunny chew to one girth strap and one of the under flaps is faded (with black stirrup leathers and springy stirrups - cheap ones)
Kensington VSD 17.5" in brown. Good condition no stirrups on it. Was actually covered in mould as has been sitting unused in the tack room for a couple of months.
Wintec VSD 17.5" in brown with brown stirrup leathers and bent leg stirrups. Almost as new, has the red gullet in I think. Has mud ingrained in it a bit where hubby parted company with a horse and then got back on.
Albion Selecta with slight wear to the bit that holds the interchangeable flaps on so you can see the white plastic underneath. Had brown stirrup leathers on and stirrups (bent leg ones I think).
Kieffer Lech Profi Black Dressage Saddle 17" with black stirrup leathers and ordinary stirrups.
Thorowgood Black 17" GP Saddle with black stirrup leathers and bent leg stirrups.
2 x Bartl Sheepskin Numnahs (full flap) with black quilting.
1 Black XFull Bridle with half rubber reins and a 6" Dutch Gag.
1 Cob Havana plain raised bridle with half rubber reins and a 5" roller barrel snaffle with copper inserts.
1 Black cob sized raised bridle with black laced reins with full cheek snaffle (only a cheap one with a scratched noseband)
1 Sabre Black bridle with no reins or bit.
1 Navy headcollar with fluffy headpiece and noseband
1 Black leather girth - 56" elastic to one end.
1 Brown Thorowgood girth - 44"
Various bridle parts and girths.
Be very aware if you are in South Wales and trust nobody (we have our suspicions but they are only that).
At least our horses are OK though, it could have been much worse .
