My mum's yard was broken into on Thurs/Fri.
Yard is near Dartford in Kent.
Bridles, headcollars, black pony harness, pony driving bridle, saddles and a knackered pair of ariat boots(!) amongst items taken. Yard tucked away so looks like whoever did it had been keeping an eye on the place. Stuff was taken in a wheelie bin at the yard
Am trying to get more detailed descriptions of items, but if you can keep an eye out this it would be much appreciated, thank you.
Also just a warning to yards in the area.

Keep an eye on the usual places as I am sure you already are, ebay, preloved, gumtree etc, hope you have some luck in finding it. We had a spate of it round here last year and I was texting alot of my customers at various yards warning them, if it's not nailed down then it goes unfortunately,

Please report this incidentin person to your local police station asking them for an incident number which you should record and keep in a safe place. Then report the incident to your local Horsewatch co-ordinator who is
Kent area Co-ordinator Diane Leslie Veal - Email - diane.leslieveal@btinternet..com
Please get any replacement tack or equipment tack marked so that it can be identified if stolen. A lot of stolen tack is recovered but because it is not marked the owner can not be identified. The thieves normally return within 3 month to remove the replacement tack so improve security of keep it at home for a while.

Thank you, yes have been looking on those kinds of sites. Some of the stuff can't be worth anything to anyone, so I don't understand why they took it. Mind you, I don't understand the mentality of theives anyway

Thank you, it has been reported to the police. I will email Diane shortly with what information I have (mum doesn't 'do' email, so it's a bit hard to get descriptions at the moment!).

I will pass the info re marking and keeping bits at home on to my mum. At this stage, I am not sure if the saddles were marked in any way as they belonged to the other person at the yard.
