Ever have one of those brainwave moments that turn out badly? Well I have!

I much prefer having a neckstrap when jumping as I am very concious of my horses mouths but I am not a fan of martingales SO I went and bought a breastplate type thingy that had the neck strap rather than the plate infront of the pommel. Well pleased was I with my purchase :D

So off I toddle to tack up my horse. Put on my spangly new breastplate, went to attach it to my saddle only to discover ... My saddle doesn't have bloomin D rings!!! All of my other saddles have them but sods law says the one saddle I would actually use them on doesn't have them! It's a Working Hunter saddle so you would ind of expect them to be on it but oh no! No D rings for me!

So now I am going to have to go and get a martingale - blah! It's for a working hunter class so just a plain neckstrap would look a bit out of place on a 17hh horse that is suited and booted up to the nines ...

The word - BALLS!!! - springs to mind!

You can buy d rings that go round stirrup bar, I think shires do them. I lost a d ring and saddler wanted 80 to replace it, and keep saddle for a week!!! So I bought pair of these. It's a webbing strap with d ring on the end and it goes round stirrup bar then you put leathers on
