I've had to start cleaning my saddle regularly as it is on loan from next door and they give it the once over everytime they see me! Other than thaat I do everything else when the guilt gets to me. I do put her bit in the dishwasher once a week though.
I throw my synthetic bridle in the washing machine once a week and wipe down my synthetic saddle once every 2/3 weeks!!! How's that for lazy and cheating!!! But it makes life so much easier!
I could not afford a leather saddle and could not go back to leather now anyway...synthetic convert I am. But then I do endurance so it does not matter what tack you have so long as it is safe!
bridle, bit & martingale get rubbed down every time I ride....taking off sand/muck etc. from arena....saddles gets a wipe down once a week but it's synthetic....all gets a proper dismantled clean every 3 - 4 weeks
Its great... he's very touchy about his tackroom If you throw dirty nunmahs, boots, bandages... just about anything in there, they all come back cleaned (Assuming you can stand the screaching that resembles a dying cat when he finds the items)
im a bit of a clean freak when it comes to my tack, my stables, my horses etc etc, so i clean it fairly often, so maybe every other week, maybe more, so it doesn't really get overly dirty, but i clean my bit everytime i ride!
I do mine before a show, which is a about twice in the spring. Should probably do it more, but its a super cheap bridle and a synthetic saddle. Although my new treeless is leather, might need more looking after!
I clean my fairly new saddle every week, but my bridle and breast plate get neglected a bit. So i ticked once a week but thats not totally accurate I suppose.
I clean my bridle once in a blue moon (or when it's so grubby I can't bear to touch it anymore for fear of the grease growing new things), but I have a show bridle that gets cleaned before every show. I have synthetic saddles for a good reason! But my bit gets rinsed after EVERY ride, and scrubbed clean when dirty or each time I clean any of my bridles. I hate dirty bits. I also hate tack cleaning!
