Is any one elses horse funny about being tack up in the stable?

Last night I went to tack Arch up in his stable and he looked petrified! I put his saddle on and he tried to rear and shot to back of his stable and wouldnt let me near him

I eventually got hold of him and took him outside on the yard and finished tacking him up and he was much happier. Im wondering if he's done some thing in his stable and frightened himself!

P.S - Im hoping to get back on him over the weekend after his week and a bit off and my two falls last week, wish me luck! The seat belt and suit of armour will be coming out!

Can't say either of mine do that, in fact my mare opens her mouth wide open for the bit to be put in..i put that down to her being foreign and strange...!! (Looks like shes catching flies)

Something must of frightened him, can you tie him up in the stable whilst tacking him up?

Good luck, hope the body armour doesn't get too much usage over the weekend x

We were asked to exercise a friends ID a couple of weekends ago. Ours are kept out 24/7 but he is in a stable. I went in to let him know somebody different was riding him, and made a bit of a fuss. When I returned with the saddle, he looked very worried and although he was no trouble, it was clear it was not an enjoyable experience for him as he was shuffling around a fair bit.

When I told his owner a few days later she said, 'oh he hates having his saddle on, he usually makes a right fuss' . Bless him, he obviously didn't like it, but because I was someone new, he behaved as well as he could.

Yes, my mare is funny about her bridle. Some days are ok, others she shoots to the back of the stable and acts like she's about to be beaten

. She also makes a fuss about having her girth done up (even if you're putting it loosely on the last hole).

Out of her stable or in the lorry she's absolutely fine and you can do the girth as tight as you like without her even noticing.

But then, she's weird - everyone says so

My mare is very funny about being tacked up or rugged up in the stable; she's fine outside though. I think she see's it as her place and get out!!
