So where was everyone then? I was there from 10-5 sitting on poor mole waiting for the jumping classs to start. Have to say -I no longer like that show due to the masses of entries and losts of ponies galloping around (i know i did that once!)- I guessed my class would overrun and start at 12 ish and had planned just to potter over the clear round a couple of times do my thing and then go home but no - Mole decided he couldn't leave his friends so we did an awful clear round in walk and hopped over the tiny cross poles. I eventually managed to seperate him whilst waiting for my class and then finally went in did a pretty diabiolical round as I was feeling so sick only to find out I had entered the 15yrs and under class (i'm 29) I got told to pay as I had been round and then had to wait for the proper class. The right one went well and I made it to the jump off but I lost control and sent the poles flying again! Oh well, now decided I willl stick to the lazy dales rather than the whizzy thing. Roll on ODE at end of May! Everyone else seemed to have an alright day - Binkybex did a great round in one of her classes and would have made the jump off had she not got lost! The_watcher got a fifth in the mountain and moorland in hand and her son got a first for best child handler (quite impressed as em is a difficult pony to handle on the bst of days where grass is all around her). Not sure they have made it back yet come to think of it........maybe they will never escape the show ground!

Na used to go to Tackley show when I was younger, but I know what its like there!!

As you say loads of children
ooo.gif
on little ponys, still not changed then!!!!!!

Sorry to hear about the jump off.

Where is your ODE? I take it you are in Oxfordshire, I would be interesting in going to the ODE at the end of may..
Is it the one in Witney?

Good job i decided not to go to Tackley then for Belles first proper show! Hopefully the little show at Abingdon and witney college will be a confidence booster (on a tuesday so hopefully no little brats on their ponies!)

there is an ode in witney?! do give details!

The one in Abingdon - is that one on Sunday at Malthouse?
I am going to that one, that will be a nice one for you.
I did it last year, it was lovely and not over run with children!

Think its the last weekend in May - 2'6 and 2'9 - I can't find it online - we've got a shcedule in our tack room so will have to get back to you. I have just spotted something else though that I may go to instead to prevent nappy behaviour - Oak tree Farm nr Bloxham have 2'3 hunter trial on 27/05/07 - details on central horse news - I think this may be more suitable form me and the horse I ride as we are both novice when it comes to x-country and I need a confidence booster.

O will look at that one too! Do they have a class bigger than 2ft9?

I think I will look a little silly on an Advanced Eventer who is 17.3 doing 2ft9 LOL

If they have 3ft + I think I will go!

No its at the stud in hailey. I go to that college so know the place and the people... so making a pratt of myself wont be so bad!

yep I think you will - i think its designed to be for people like me who have no hope of ever making it in the eventing world or would like to but need to start somewhere. I didn't even know they had a x-country course until we went there for a dressage competition with my riding club but I noticed some tyres and barrels etc around the fields. I think 2'9 was the max class but could be wrong - will let you know when find schedule in next day or two.

However I am not an Advanced Eventer! not even an Into Eventer!!
The horse has not done eventing for a few years as he is not eventing anymore, more of a fun horse!
So I need things like that too!! I have not done an event in 2 years!

Would have been there but OH has no car, the boys had a party to go to so was stuck

Never mind, sounds like my idea of HELL anyway!!!!!!!!

We do not have a ODE scheduled yet as the hay needs to be cut first - new course is AWESOME though, have seen the plans, the trakeners are being built ATM and I cannot WAIT for it to get going

Once the scedules have been organised I will let everyone know!

I know NOTHING about the A&W College show - PLEASE PLEASE I need info!

The Witney Young Farmer show is at Shilton, on the Blue Cross grounds, 13th May (nearer Burford than Witney BTW).

And the Malthouse show - what is that!

Give me info people!

Hey, A+W Show will probs be a bit tame for you? It's only going upto 2'9''?? It is combined training and dressage on the 15th may(tues).Malthouse next Sun, Baldons horse show.

Hey I was there! - saw the watchers pony, is it the same one that was in one of the small jumping classes? It was sooo cute!!!

Well done!

I wimped out of the 2ft9 table A5 and my friend rode my boy and had the first down unfortunatley (shame as he was up for it!). I had a fall at cricklands last weekend and doubles (especially solid red parallels are an issue for us!!).

Then did veterans in-hand, literally running out of jumping mode where he had been round, threw the saddle off and ended up showing in my jumping gear BUT my darling 26 year old came 3rd! - odd judging as we didnt do individual show?! but well chuffed anyway!

Indeed it did drag on, we were there til 6pm and there were 50 in the first jumping class!

I find they dont cater for people that like jumping smaller that are on big horses, unless you havent won anything before.

Malthouse on 6th May is Baldons Show, loads of classes for wimps like me! - if anyone wants to know the classes PM me, but something for everyone...

Although ground wont be brilliant as bit lumpy outside there...

x

weezy - there is a mini ODE and 2-phase at end of may at hill farm livery - I will post further details when find them. Gutted as now as have to go to work today after a week off playing with horses! I need another week off.
