My young horse has had a saddle issue recently after the saddle fitting it wrong!! the saddle has now been taken away and redone and fits fantastic, but i notice that her tail bone is slighly over to one side to the left, when i ride her it carries to the left, she was always straight in her tail before this saddle issue, i had her back checked a couple weeks ago and she was sore and had ostepath put it back in to place do you think i should go and get it re checked or does anyone know the reason for them to carry the tail to the side?? also she is bucking in canter, just when we set off which is not like her xxx

She clearly has some discomfort you need to get it sorted out .
Usually if a horse carries it tail to one side it's a sign of discomfort some horses will always carry the tail one side as a result of old issues but are not in any pain .
I have one horse whose type often carry the tail to one side he's from a type not quite a breed IMO of horse bred to do those strange showing classes in amercia they are shown with long tails and often they carry the tail to side it seems natural in him.

My young one had a very pronounced left tail bend when I first broke him, but regular physio and correct work it is now straight plus a lot stronger through his back etc.
Its now a warning sign for me for if he is not quite right as it comes back.
Always best to get it checked out by a vet then physio.

Presumably the osteopath relieved soft tissue tension on one side allowing the tail to straighten .
I wish these professionals would explain clearly to people the process they are doing to help people understand how things work.

It more of a muscular and strength issue, my physio did tissue work plus I had exercises to do with him daily, which I still do now, as he needed more flexibility and strength in the right places. It has taken nearly a year to build him up correctly.

Hi i have a fab osteo based at the vets, her theratics was out, where the saddle was sitting, due to a incorrect saddle fitting which hurt her back, i have got a sports therapist coming out next Wednesday whom works on the muscles and soft tissue the back man wants to see her after the sports therapist has done her treatment and done a full report, i will then take her to the vets to see the oesto if there is no improvement where there is also vets present to have a look at her, also my saddle has been altered by a independent saddle fitter which found massive faults but now properly will fit her so it causes no discomfort. will keep you posted on how all is going. thankyou so much for all your help and getting me to understand the problem more xx
