Tail Extension's - Any Ideas?!

I am looking at buying a rather nice potential eventer - only thing is his tail is SHOCKING, it looks like a yearlings tail all pointy and really short. Any ideas on how to perhaps improve the look until it grows back?

You can buy false tails (mainly for the showring), but if you aren't planning on showing why bother? Save your money!!

think derby house do the for around £100 i think but not sure

Miss, yes Derby house do them for around £97.....saw them in the catalogue (sp?) as i was browsing earlier.

I do think they are a good idea but a damn well expensive idea. Plus if the tail is so bad i don't think cutting a sample off for the fake tail people to match will help. I am not sure what to suggest but trim it a bit, a cm or two just to encourage it to grow again perhaps?
