How does the tail rake work and does it make tails look smart and like they have been properly pulled. My horse is a bugger to pull either his mane or tail so wouldn't mind an easy option!!

Mine does - I'm useless at pulling and my lad has such a thick tail I tend to give up before it's done - 10 mins with a rake and it looks brilliant - in fact it's going to be tidied with it tonight

They are excellent....just comb down the sides of the tail and bandage regularly. Got mine from clippersharp...its excellent....and can get replacement blades when the blades go blunt.
Careful with the cheap copies as have heard a horror story of the blade slicing into the horses dock, as it wasnt made correctley. Not nice.

Yes and I won't be in a rush to use it again, simply because despite following instructions to the letter I had a row of spikes standing up when I plaited the mane, looked dire.

We used one on Toto's tail and it looks really smart

Got mine from clippersharp too and it's great for tails but would agree they need bandaging regularly. Have used it on my gelding's bushy mane but just on the underside to thin it then tidy up in the normal way or by using a solo comb.

I brush Barons mane over to the wrong side then rake it through, so I am doing the underside. A girl on our yard did topside and it took me about an hour to help her plait up as the length was so uneven.

I dont find them very good for tails though, I generally just attack Barons with the trimmers

Just comb down the sides of the tail......best to leave the centre hairs alone and they will lie flat. If you haven't used one before, best to do a little each day and then tail bandage after.
