Tail rubbing help....

Hi my mare has in our last 2 trips out rubbed her tail In our lorry. She's rubbed it down to the dock and the hair has come out - I know this will grow back. What I wondering is how to travel her again. The 1st time she did this I was using a new tail guard that has gone back, and yesterday just a standard tail bandage. I'm thinking is changing the layout in the lorry a little to travel her more in the diagonal to stop her leaning as much and give her more room. Can anyone help? I'm currently using sudocrem to soothe the tail.
 
I use Naff D-itch in the summer but have found it seems to stimulate hair growth. The only problem is that it is very greasy.
 
Thanks Rollin - I take it that's s cream? She's generally good at growing hair. In 6 months we've gone from bring hogged if a full mane that can be plaited.

My mare Really sits on her hind end when travelling but as long as I have a tail guard or tail bandage properly secured it doesn't usually rub the hair away. I have also noticed if I use a fleece with a tail flap, this is just as affective at protecting the tail hair.
 
My TB used to do this, both in tail guards and bandages, one day I forgot to put anything on and he didn't rub his tail, now travels without and has been fine, no explanation for this except possibly his tail got hot
