Can anyone recommend which tailbag is best for a very thick, long tail?

My gypsy cob needs something to stop his tail dragging in the mud.

I've looked at the tailgator ones and there are also m2m ones on ebay which are about 1/4 of the price of the tailgator ones.

Just wondered if anyone with similar horses could recommend which would be best? I'd like to be able to ride in it if that makes a difference?

Hi. I have the ones you can buy from ebay. They work brilliantly. Especially on my big dopey one as he IS a hippo!!! If I didnt keep one in his tail it would be a giant mud dreadlock when he came in. He also has an extremely thick tail. I plait the tail, secure with a strong hairband. Attach the tail bag and secure the velcro tape with a bit of Duct Tape. No need tko spend lots of money. They are only gonna get muddy! :D

Thank you - the girl selling them on ebay has asked me what width/length I need and I'm not exactly sure so waiting for her to confirm the standard size to see if I can work it out from that.

Pony currently has a muddy dreadlock - I do wash it when it's not too cold but I feel bad doing it in the middle of winter - here's his tail in all it's glory!

Oooh! what a smashing banner he has!!! To measure you want to attach the tail bag roughly near the end of the tail bone. Then down to the back of his fetlock area. You can always turn the end of the plaited tail over when you put the bag on
