Not tried this one, but do use tailbags on my three ladies, my coloured is the worst, her tail is mainly white with a few black streaks and it gets really dirty, she wears a tailbag all the time and it does work, mine came from my local saddler and cost me £5.00 brilliant.................

i dont use them i just roll tail high in bandage, people on my yard use em they look disgusting once used the crap just builds up down the bag, yuk, n onto the horses legs ect and i cringe when i think what my husband wud say if i tried to put in the washing machine!!!

Your husband goes near the washing machine!!

I am keeping it wrapped/taped up for hunting but these things can stay on for upto two weeks, so I am thinking more for turnout when I can't, well wont leave it bandaged. I doubt I would get away with it being on my boy for that long though.

Thank you

Chancer lives in one - very long and thick gypsy cob tail. My life saver.

Early October, I comb the tail through with survivor detangler, and megatek, plait in two plaits - tail is too thick for one plait. Pop in tailbag, fold in half and forget for a month. Then comb, plait and bag again. His tail grows so long whilst in the bag I have to take off about 4 - 5" every four months and it is in wonderful condition - no drying out and splitting.

Chancer has worn one since 2 years and has a wonderful tail. Without a bag it take up to an hour to wash and comb out. I have never had it come off, pull hair or get dirt inside.

In summer, he has two thirds of his tail bagged and the top third left out - still more than any TB to swish flies with.

Cairo now also wears one in winter.

I also use mane bags - again without them his mane is a tangled mass of dreds.

Yes - I do like them

I have one and leave it on 24/7 all winter apart from when i ride ( and then only take it off cause she bucks if i canter her with it on!) I love mine never gets that shitty and just hose it off when it does.
I de plait every weekend and brush through and then replait and put it back on saves me sooooo much time if i am off out competing as dont have to wash and rewash her tail.
