Any reccomendations?

Im a middle aged lady who would like to take her own horse on holiday in yorkshire for 3 to 4 days and improve our riding - i want to perfect my canter and learn to jump.

Im googling but can only find general hacking holidays or places where you ride their riding school ponies - I want me and my cob to go together and do it with him - any ideas or reccomendations???? .

Hmm, I actually don't know of anywhere off the top of my head. Does the Yorkshire Riding Centre not do these types of holidays?

I know some adult camps are held at various places - I think the Gee Gee Centre does some in the summer and there have been some this year at Eleanor Mercer's in N Yorks.

I am sure there must be some places. I took my pony on holiday many years back to a -place in bewerley. However, it wasn't as much fun as i had hoped it would be - mainly due to some staff there at the time though!

Google Bobbis horse camp, its held at Somerford Park in Cheshire, not too far away. My trainer Liam Fisher taught there earlier this year. They do flatwork, jumping and Xc so far as I know. The next one is at the end of March, Im thinking of going and it includes stabling for your horse, 2 lessons per day and sounds really good. Thats all I know for now, will find out more when I have my lesson this Weds.

ty everyone - i will look them all up.
I dont want to go too far - we are in leeds and only want a few days so dont want my boy too stressed out from travelling far x

Yorkshire Riding Centre......not a typical riding holiday but they have a guest house, do holiday livery and lessons (my YO did the same thing last year) and I have to say their instructors are amazing (especially Jane Bartle-Wilson and Will Joyce!)

Let me 2nd the Yorkshire riding centre and yes they is excellant hacking around there as well as excellant instructors ( highly recommend will ) disclaimer if any of the above is incorrectly spelt I do have dyslexia ) :)

Oh Yes forgot to mention the lovely hacking local to YRC too! Seriously, your life will never be complete without a lesson from Will (Yes, I'm being deadly serious!). Also the stabling is lovely, the yard is in a gorgeous area, the turnout is picturesque and the staff are lovely......I'll definitely be taking Max over there for a few days holiday next year :-)

ty all - i have looked at their webiste and it does look brillaint if not a littel posh for us!
Anyway ive emailed excplaining what i want - ie 2 or 3 days to perfect our canter and me ot learn to jump, enjoy some nice hacking - i just want to learn enough to make us safe and my boy comfortable not to enter competitions etc
Im a bit unsure - it does look very high level and im only a happy hacker and only want me and my cob to learn happy ahcking stuff not top eventing!
I shall await their reply :)

Oh don't worry about that, they are fine - they used to have a lot of overseas students but i am not sure what happened with that to be honest but anyway, they are used to varying levels of riders. We used to go to the christmas pantos they used to do years back - Chris Bartle would put on a fab dressage display as part of the 'story'.

It certainly is probably the best one if you want somewhere fairly close to Leeds anyway - only about 30 to 45 mins drive I would say.

Ive emailed them making it perfectly clear i am just a happy hacker who wants to improve cantering and learn to jump - having fun but learning to ensure im riding comfortably for my horse etc etc.
Got a fab really friendly email back straight away with numbers and names of who to speak to and ring tomorrow - ty everyone - all this looks very good! :D

I second north humberside riding centre- the tuition (if you get senior instructors) is second to none, and thes plenty of hacking AND a beach AND a XC course and they do full board for owners too- i learnt there and loved it :D
