Apart from rectally, is there any other way a temperature can be taken?

Base of ear should be slightly warmer than our body temp. However rectally is the only accurate way and only reliable way there is

Is your horse microchipped as you can get a biotherm chip that does the same job as a normal chip and gives you the body temperature too.
