Ok so I did the stupid thing of googling it and now quite worried about my horse.

Quick history Jack is on box rest for NF fractured pedal bone, not allowed to leave the stable total box rest for 6 weeks then reassess (assessment is this coming Friday) So last Tuesday evening noticed very swollen off hind leg, rang vet quick chat and felt that he had lymphangitis prescribed Doxycycline and danilon, gave to him Wednesday morning by Thursday morning he was unable to eat or drink and he was covered in a huge rash. Spoke to vet again and he has had a reaction to the Doxycycline and changed him to Norodine. By Friday evening he was eating a little and had drunk a bit so decided to see how he went over weekend, OH had started to go down. This morning went up and now off fore is swollen and small amount of heat now back in the OH. Still eating and drinking a small amount. Goes without saying I will be onto the vet first thing tomorrow to see where we go from here. Is there a light at the end of the tunnel with this condition as all seems very doom and gloom on the black hole of google.
 
Hi, I have extensive knowledge of Lymphangitis sadly and the right mix of drugs are critical. Get it right and most of the swelling will go in 24 hours, however movement is desired for this condition which you can't do.

It's an incredibly painful condition so don't delay in calling the vet.

Drug mix that I've seen best results from are Baytril (expensive but perfect AB for this condition) bute, steroids and diuretics. Yes it's a long list, but my vet got quite expert at dealing with repeat bouts of it in one of my horses, typically 6-8 hours after this concoction and she was comfy and hardly swollen.

Thank you, no delay in calling vet but as horse literally hits the roof when he sees a vet they don't want to come out and ruin all the box rest unless need to. I will call them first thing in the morning. I honestly don't care what it costs, he is insured currently and even if claim wasn't successful I would find a way to pay just so he is happy and comfy. Movement is such a stick point as dammed if we do dammed if we don't. I am not a fan of box rest but I can see the need for it in this situation. Wish he was out in a field. All advice is very helpful :)
