So lami pony has been off in his riding, not lame just not right. He is better on hard ground.

Spoke to vet and got back lady out just to see if its his back. Back lady said, she is also saddle lady and we checked saddle, that he is slightly short in right fore in th school but is fine on the concrete.

Now to back treatment, he was mostly even but when she asked him to stretch his right fore to tippy toes he kept snatching it back as if saying ow that hurts. He will do it fine on the left.

Back lady said he could have tweaked a tendon, as that's the kind if reaction you get from sore tendon or soft tissue. I thought it was his shoulder but he is very lose in it.

Now if it is a tweaked tendon what do I do? Vet said box rest but he is a box walker/door kicker so would make it worse plus with all the box rest he had last year there is now way he will do more so I'm field resting him. He doesn't have any swelling or heat in the area but it is the same leg he had the abcess and it tracked up his leg.

Argh just want him to stay sound/okay for more than three weeks this year!

I would not be panicking about tendon injuries, it is unlikely that there will be any tendon damage without some heat or swelling and a back person cannot diagnose this type of injury by just stretching its leg out. I would think it is more likely his shoulder if he did not want to fully stretch or his foot where most lameness originates, possibly heel pain if he does not fully stretch, get the vet for a proper diagnosis.

I spoke to vet after. She said just rest for a week and if he is no better then they will come out. So will do that.

It has been really boggy round the fields and he struggled on his last walk round them when normally it doesn't bother him. He did slip when cantering to me the other day to come in.

Thanks for the reply. I will keep eye and keep vet posted.
