Ours is totally amazing.
Chocx lost a front shoe on Sat at the ODE so late Sunday afternoon I left a message on our farrier's answerphone asking him to pop in when he could later this week, as we daren't turn him out without a shoe as he fence walks.
I was out Sunday eveing and when I got back, he had called in, replaced the shoe and said he wouldn't charge us...
No I won't say who he is or where we live, he's far too good to share

Ours normally is, comes out normally the same day if any of ours loses a shoe.
But this time hes gone on hols without letting us know and One is desperate for shoes! normally hes so good and texts us holiday dates! GRRR!

Lucky you Henryhorn! That's just what you need if you have competition horses. I could write a book about my farrier sagas! Suffice to say he was an alcoholic, tried to commit suicide and has heart problems! Still hopefully he is now recovering and should be able to start work again soon. Thank goodness another local farrier has been able to shoe my horses. My friend's daughter is training but she is only half way through!

I too and very lucky with my farrier. I've always appreciated him, but reading some of the horror stories on here, makes me appreciate him just that little bit more!

I too have a lovley farrier !

He has spent alot of time getting my boy right, now i can keep shoes on for 6 weeks and not 3 weeks ! but this is my farrier i used to use when i was a groom, so he knows his stuff and he's not expensive ! if you feed him tea and bacon rolls he is happy !

Sue you are lucky he is fab. He did a really great job on Mac's feet. What he needs tho is a girl in the area, he was saying that after shoeing mac on Friday he was going to go home and cook himself tea - can't you persuade him that caroline is for him? That way you get a farrier in the family - a useful addition to anyone's family

I'm extremely lucky with my farrier as well. He's brilliant at what he does and is a good friend. A lot of people give out about their farriers; I'm always aware of how lucky I am to have someone I trust absolutely around my horses in every way.
