Has anyone tried these? I'm going in a couple of weeks with a friend that I bought vouchers for after seeing it advertised in H&H Chrimbo gift ideas. Am now papping myself that I'm going to look stupid and just wondered if anyone had any words of comfort that we're not about to show ourselves up riding superstar schoolmasters who will scoff at our feeble attempts to ride properly !

I've been for a couple and they were great. My horse showed me up a bit by doing flying changes when I hadn't asked for them but apparently they are his party trick so likes to do them at even the slighest opportunity so you do learn to sit very quitely!

My friend has been having dressage lessons on a Grand prix horse there, and she loves it.
She says it gives you such a buzz, but she did feel a numpty when she first booked her lesson too.
Don't worry about it....go have fun!

Whereabouts are you??If near me you are more than welcome to come and have a go on mine before you go to give you an idea? He is working at Prix St George( he is - not me!) and I have him to learn all the tricks on. He is a true schoolmaster- give him the wrong aids and he ad libs!
I would be more than happy to let you and your friend have a ride.

Brill, I've been having lessons on my boy to try and improve his flatwork but really wanted to focus on my riding and figure out whether I'm asking the right questions or confusing the hell out of my poor honey.

Absolutely amazing!

I went a couple of months ago - i'm just your average rider, riding a Welsh D at the time - and didn't feel feeble! My instructor was Justine who was fab and the horses were brilliant. Def recommend it, I want to go back when i can afford it.

Oh bless him ! I'm in Leicestershire and my friend is coming down from County Durham so it takes some planning for us to get anywhere together but thank you so much for that kind offer !! I have no dressage background, I learned to ride by the seat of my pants on a farm 34 years ago and am just getting around to learning to ride "properly" after trying a dressage horses last year when looking for a horse after a 15 year break and feeling like a complete incompetent tw*t tee hee. I'm looking forward to it now - thanks for the comments !!!

Good that's a great recommendation and I think that's who is teaching me. I was thinking if I didn't make a complete tit of myself and could face going back that I might try a SJ schoolmaster to get my confidence back in seeing a stride and jumping something higher than six inches too since my boy can defo jump and I'd like to do some competing next year.

This is fab ! Can't wait.

Didn't really get a choice on the instructor. We wanted to go on the 15th and have one lesson after the other so we can be sad and video each other so we're each having a different instructor. I'll just be happy if I feel like I've learned something new and broken one or two bad habits, which will be amazing with only 45 minutes !!

I had a Talland Schoolmaster lesson for my birthday and had Justine who was a very good instructor and a lovely old boy to learn some tricks on. Highly recommended, I just wish I lived closer!
