Tally has been a bit rejected since I moved to Christchurch and acquired the Thoroughbreds, but as Missy is still unbroken (a work in progress, after one sit on her which resulted in me taking flight, she'll be being sent off to be broken in) and Fready overreached in the field and going lame and having expanded sufficiently to no longer fit his jumping saddle (now rectified with a new one...) Tally got to move into prime position for a day out. He heard the float being attached to the car and began whinnying so I think he was a tad excited.
I decided to do the vast heights of 70cm and 80cm. He's an old man now (he just turned 20) and I thought he'd be rather happy jumping around nice small heights. He disagreed and I had very little brakes as the jumps weren't big enough to slow him down. He jumped clear in the 70cm and had a rail in the 80cm due to a disagreement about corners where he laughed at my half halts but was very well behaved and absolutely gleeful about jumping in public. His little face just lit up when he trotted into the ring.
He really is a ridiculously photogenic little horse.
