that's not too molassed.

He doesn't bother to eat it if it's too boring, but he doesn't need the molasses.

I thought I'd ask on here because I want a variety of options to ask for at the feed merchants. I'm not really organised enough to order it so I want it to be one they stock

Thankyou in anticipation

I thought HiFi AppleChaff was molassed? I've recently bought a bag of TopChop Lite and TopChop Alfa, both are molasses free. I've got six eating it, varying from extremely fussy to very greedy, all have eaten them with no problems.

dengie have just brought out a Hi fi unmolassed and an Alfa- unmolassed .

They have fenugreek and mint in it for a bit of flavour. My horse is wolfing it down.
It also has £2 off per bag at the minute for introductory price.

hey glayva, was going to suggest the new alpha. most like mint and fenugreek. am going to order a couple of bags in my next delivery to try it out!!

I had a sample of Saracen Slim Chaff that both of mine liked. Ok. one will eat almost anything but the other is fussy & he licked the bowl clean.

Another one for the new alpha, we've got 4 on it at the moment and they're all loving it, including the fussy one. Plus the couple of quid off introductory offer doesn't hurt!

topspec top chop lite - no molasses and has dried mint in it. Ours both eat it up. Fussy one at first turned her nose up, but in her prev home she was fed sugary food so I think just like humans her palatte had to change to enjoy the new 'health food'! As you would with a picky child - don't pander to fussyness, just feed and leave them too it. They won't starve themselves and will adapt to new food!

My tb is getting a handful of ‘Graze-On’ as a chaff, it’s fast dried grass and a bag lasts for blooming ages, been on it a few weeks and have had no unpleasant side effects (such as we do with sugar and cereals!) and he loves it. We’ve had issues with Chaff before as so many of them contain molasses or Alfalfa both of which send him silly.

Your probably right. i don't think I pander I'll always finish a bag of whatever I'm feeding him, but he was on happy hoof and he picks the nice bits out! This carried on for about a month and since I'm buying it and chaff is good for their digestion I'd quite like to find some he'll eat!

I dont know about anyone else but I have had real problems with chaff this year, no wonder some of them are not eating it, have had problems with dengie, spillers and D&H it has all seemed rather powdery and musty, i must say though i am now back on good old dengie and its brilliant! just changing the subject a bit but has any1 else had problems and dodgy bags???

Top Chop Lite chaff as someone else has already mentioned. It has mint in it, smells lovely and is unmolassed. Our lot wolf it down!
