My 4yr TB is recovering from an injury to her stomache - very swollen lump. The vet said he would like to see her turned out in the daytime from tuesday onwards - tomorrow. Thing is the field is down the road and would mean having to lead her up a very sloping hill

I am not happy turning her out onto the hard frost aswell as the ground was very churned up prior to the frost so its lethal!! i know the first thing she will do is bomb round with the babies and then they will be at risk from a fall too

Since she has been in she has slightly swollen fetlocks (back legs) and shes been in since thursday night (had colic) and only went for a very short walk to the bottom of the frosty yard.
Will she be okay in untill the frost has thawed??

yup. My TB had an abcess and even though it's burst through her heel and healing well I can't risk letting her out without her shoe on in case she gets another. Farrier isn't due til next Thursday so in she will have to stay.

Plenty of fibre helps to keep her occupied and I have been walking her in hand but couldn't today because of the ice. She is being a good girl... all things considered!
